Living With Things is a series of modified everyday objects. Originally manufactured as »tools« to fulfill tasks, they now – in their second life – explore a more emotional relationship between people and their things. How (much) can a lifeless object be »subjectified« by its holder? How can an ordinary moment of one-way use be changed into a two-way conversation, possibly a moment of intimacy and awareness? Engaging with the objects one admits into a sort of symbiotic relationship – they need you as much as you need them.
This work embodies a personal view of the world, very much soaked with wishfulness. It might inspire others to look at the ordinary with fresh and friendly eyes. |
